Boston is a cosmopolitan city in the northeastern United States, bordering the Atlantic ocean. Harvard University and the Massachusetts institute of technology are all located here. Founded in 1630, Boston is the oldest city in the United States. It enjoys an excellent reputation in education, medicine, technology and finance. Walking in this ancient and modern city, you can feel the strong atmosphere of traditional with innovative, fashion with coexist.
In 2019, the first "Boston international photography competition" will be holded in Boston. Welcome everyone who loves photography to participate actively!
The "Boston International Photography Competition" is organized by the Boston international media consulting, Inc. and co-organized by the Boston Chinese Photography Association. The theme of this competition is Boston, aiming to capture the beautiful moments of Boston. There is no specific requirement for the content of the photos as long as they highlight the beauty of Boston. Here are some ideas you can use as references: a) a picture of a couple sightseeing on the Charles River; b) a picture of the busy downtown; c) a picture of people reuniting and saying goodbyes at the airports. We are sure that there are many more subjects that await your discovery.
Registration Date and Submission Date:
09/01/2019 – 10/30/2019（participants need to fill out the application forms and upload their photographic works within the required timeframe）
After the registration is closed, the committee will collect and review all photographic works, followed by an online voting via specific websites and WeChat official accounts to introduce the works to the public.

Online Voting Period:
11/1/2019 – 11/15/2019 (Each voter will be provided 20 voting tickets that can be used to vote for 20 photos that he/she likes. Each voter has only one chance to vote and their votes cannot be changed once submitted. If the 20 votes are not entirely cast, the remaining votes will be invalid automatically.)
After the online voting is closed, the competition committee will collect the voting result and calculate the final votes of each work. Top 20 works will enter the next stage of the competition, also known as the offline judges’ review. The committee will share those 20 works through WeChat official accounts and organize the judges’ review session accordingly.
Judges’ Review Period: 11/1/2019 – 11/30/2019
After the judges' review and selection, the organizing committee will collect, calculate and analyze the final results. The organizing committee will then issue an invitation that contains details of the award ceremony through WeChat official accounts. All contestants will be invited to participate in the award ceremony on December 14th, 2019.
12/14/2019 (The award ceremony will be held at the annual gala of the Boston Chinese Photography Association. At that time, the best photo of each participant will be exhibited at the gala.)

Contestant can only register by submitting an application form or sending an e-mail.
Application forms must be submitted no later than 9/30/2019. Application forms submitted after the 9/30/2019 will not be accepted.
We will only accept photographic works that are taken in Boston. All photographers are more than welcome to participate.
All photographic works should have clear themes, real-life scenes, outstanding visuals, vivid content, expressive photographic language, and excellent image quality. The submission can be a single photo or a group of photos (1-5 images). Black and white, and colored photos are all acceptable. Contestants must use professional camera and photographic equipment to generate the content. All works must be submitted electronically. Each contestant can submit up to 3 pieces of photos (group photos are counted as one piece.). Any submission of more than 3 pieces will be invalid. It is recommended to do one-time submission to avoid rejection as a duplicated submission.
The works submitted should be in JPEG format. The JPEG format document should be at least 5120 pixels * 3840 pixels with dpi300 or above, and the single file size should be no more than 10MB.
The content of a picture must not be altered by adding, rearranging, reversing, distorting or removing objects from within the picture except by cropping. Post processing works are only limited to adjusting brightness, contrast, saturation, colors, cropping or balance, etc.
The submitted photos must not be embedded with any marks, borders, texts, signatures, etc.
This competition will be free of charge. Trophies and awards will be issued to the winner of the competition.

Award and ceremony
The competition has set up a range of awards that includes 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place under the Scenery Category; 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place under the Portrait Category; Most Popular Award, and Recognition Award.
Winners will receive monetary prizes or prizes with equivalent values accordingly:
1⃣️一等奖：价值$300元的奖金或奖品(1st Place: $300 or a prize worth $300）
2⃣️二等奖：价值$200元的奖金或奖品(2nd Place: $200 or a prize worth $200）
3⃣️三等奖：价值$100元的奖金或奖品(3rd Place: $100 or a prize worth $100）
Winners of Most Popular Award and Recognition Award will receive prizes worth $50.
The Award Ceremony will be held at the annual gala of the Boston Chinese Photography Association on December 14th, 2019. At that time, the best photo of each participant will be exhibited at the gala。
Organizer of the competition has the right to use the photographic work submitted to the competition.
The copyright, portrait rights and honor rights of the works in this competition belong to the original photographer, and the original photographer should be held accountable. The organizer ought not be held accountable.
Contestants must grant the organizer permission to make all entries into an electronic catalogue.
The organizer reserves the right to utilize the final works taken and submitted by selected photographers for reproduction, distribution, exhibition, screening, online communications, and any other publicity related announcements during the copyright period.
For works and actions that are prejudicial to the public order and social practices will be disqualified immediately (including but not limited to serious misleading public perceptions, fraudulent nature, etc.). All violations against national laws, social ethics, public order and culture will also be disqualified immediately.
The nature of this competition is non-profit, therefore, does not purchase any commercial insurance for the contestants. Contestants are required to pay attention to their personal and property safety during course of the event. The organizer and the organizer shall not bear any legal, economic and all other joint responsibility for personal safety and property losses caused by accidents, acute illnesses, conflicts with others.
The organizer reserves the final right of explanation for the collection of works, event promotion, event production and related matters of this competition.
Applicants filling and submitting the registration forms should be considered as fully read and understood the competition rules and guidelines and are subject to the rules of the competition. If you do not agree with the rules of this competition, we kindly ask you not to register.
